Will Council release more information?

With a legal case pending on the decision to rename the Market Square, it will be interesting to see if City Council releases any additional information in support of the in camera decision making process.

I would seriously doubt that the City would release any additional information regarding the in-camera meeting. If the meeting was "legal" - by that, I mean in accordance to the parameters set forth in the Municipal Act, 2001 concerning such meetings - the City would have no call for releasing information as it prepares to defend itself in court.

My take on the situation is that the City will successfully be able to show the judge that the rules for holding a session in-camera were followed; however, a judge will likely comment that the City did not contravene the Act but it did not proper its own policies when it came to the process of renaming Market Square.
