Do we have any statistics on the age breakdown of current users of ice-pads and pools. If the users of ice pads are younger than users of pools and there are fewer young people coming along, that might make the pool a better use of money.
By the way - how much does a 50 metre pool cost to build and to maintain?

Just letting everyone know that this June 21, Tuesday, 2005 there will be a HUGH number of people who consider the 50 meter pool the MAIN purpose of a Multiplex. This meeting will be during the Council Meeting on the Multiplex
Time 7:30 p.m. Place City Hall = ask Receptionist
This is a crucial meeting for people who support the Pool concept.
Okay people if you think that a 50 meter Olympic size Pool would be the Best thing to put in a Multiplex along with the Ice Pads. Be at that meeting.

Google Council to finish pool debate tonight
June 10, 2009
For those who are complaining about TAXES. I would love to ask this question.
“How much have you already paid taxes for the salaries paid to everyone that has participated in these discussions other than the general public. How much money have been paid to these Councilors and Past Councilors to discuss this topic. How Much Taxes have you paid towards CONSULTANTS fees to look into this topic? How many Staff wages have been paid for on this topic?
I have always said I want to see a 50 meter pool at the Multiplex and I can fully understand WHY you people don’t want it. What I am upset with is this: If we had just build the pool back in 1994 instead of keeping this topic going. We would have already paid for the entire pool.
Don’t you think WE (people who are for the pool AND the people who are against the pool) to get together and raise HELL for this to continue. Let US force this council or either Build this pool or NEVER BRING IT UP AGAIN in this city. Don't let this issue be a topic to bring in a New Council in 2010.
p.s. Just for you people to know. Mark Fluhrer has just landed a New Facility in BELLEVILLE, Prince Edward County for a 50 meter pool. Go Mark Go. Oh yes Mark Fluhrer was the first person who actually tried to make this 50 meter pool a reality HERE IN KINGSTON.
