How does health care in Kingston compare -- how can we improve it?
The public will get an opportunity to hear from local experts and participate in a discussion about the future of health care in Kingston when an open line program airs next Thursday on TVCOGECO.
Co-sponsored by Kingston Electors Online and TVCOGECO, the one hour open line program will focus on the importance of good health care in contributing to a viable community.
The program will examine health care facilities and programs in the Kingston area compared to other communities and discuss how these impact on our quality of life and our future as an attractive place for investment and growth.
Subjects will include current efforts to attract more family practitioners to Kingston.
Panelists are: Dr. John Rapin, emergency department physician at Kingston General Hospital and president of the Ontario Medical Association; Joe de Mora, CAO at Kingston General Hospital, and Anne Pritchard of the Frontenac Community Futures Corporation.
Program moderator is Gillian Sadinsky, a director with Kingston Electors Online, a group of community supporters whose website and other activities strive to inform and engage local residents on a wide range of civic issues and improve municipal governance.
This is the second in the series Kingston Matters, community phone-in programs co-sponsored by Kingston Electors Online and TVCOGECO to heighten awareness of vital issues in our area and to encourage public discussion and debate.
The program will air Thursday February 10 from 8 to 9 p.m. on TVCOGECO, Channel 13. The phone-in number is 544-6347.
