Since the mayor does not have a specific mandate for an LVEC from the last election, should there not be a broadly based public meeting before any further work proceeds on this project?

Let us hope that it is held in an accessible location (the Memorial Centre?) and time - 7 pm not 7 am!

LVEC Project Manager To Update DBIA At Annual Meeting

Don Gedge, the City of Kingston's Large Venue Entertainment Centre (LVEC) project manager will present an information update to members of the Downtown Kingston Business Improvement Area (DBIA) at its annual general meeting Wednesday, November 22, 2004.

Gedge says his presentation will try and help create a "mind's eye view" for members of the DBIA of a modern LVEC. His presentation also features an update on the site feasibility work being done and a tribute to the City of Kingston's first Mayor, John Counter.

At the last meeting of the Large Venue Entertainment Centre steering committee, Gedge shared the following schedule of critical dates for a proposed opening date of August 1, 2007. The next public meeting of the steering committee is Wednesday, November 24, at 7:00 a.m. at Kingston City Hall.

Well, we have been told time and time again that we're not to worry our pretty little heads about the LVEC planning & execution, that that is what our elected representatives are for!
