It will be interesting to see how long it will take City Councillors or staff to clean up all the visible signs of maintenance neglect at the Memorial Centre buildings and grounds. Certainly this evidence of neglect is not visible in City Park which sits in the Sydenham District!
But at the very least the defacement of a war memorial by a Nazi swastika should be cleaned off immediately out of respect for those for whom the memorial was established after WW II. The 1946 Memorial Centre Inauguration Plaque is currently defaced by a swastika in the upper left corner of the monument.
