DANIEL BEALS CAMPAIGN | BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER
Blockade of CSC Region Headquarters - Friday, July 23rd
Shutting down CSC Regional Headquarters for the morning is meant to send a peaceful but assertive democratic message to our government. The Conservatives cannot ignore the vast majority of Canadians on this lighting rod public safety and local food issue. We will not give up until they listen.
We will not disrupt traffic on King Street. Citizens who do not want to block vehicles can participate by standing with signs on the other side of the road.
Please refer to the saveourprisonfarms.ca for more information.
Kingston Activist Training Day
Join us on Saturday 24th of July for a day of fun! Gain new skills, learn about emerging issues. This is a special training day for people age 14-25, hosted by the Ontario New Democratic Youth.
We are going to be spending the day in Kingston, at Queen's University in the Biosciencce building. The cost is $5.
If you are not in eastern Ontario, you should know that similar training days are also being planned for the GTA and Kitchener-Waterloo, although you are of course welcome to join us in Kingston.

Led by the President of the Ontario New Democrats we will be taking a stroll down memory lane. Talking about the birth of the Party in Canada and our movement's impact on the culture of Canada.
Introduction to Robert's Rules
Led by Elizabeth Kessler and Jamie Masse
Pretty much exactly what it says, many Young New Democrats have been interested in learning proper techniques for understanding whats going on at meetings and how to facilitate a meeting properly.
Activist Organizing

This workshop will help get young people involved not only at campus but in their communities. It will be a roundtable talking about ideas that have worked in the past and ideas we need to improve on.

Prison Farms Update: Civil Disobedience Workshop
Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 7PM
Kingston City Park - Beside the Sir John A statue (King St./West St.)
There will be another civil disobedience workshop on this Thursday, July 29, at City Park. (Meet by the statue of Sir John A., at the corner of King and West.) It will start at 7:00 pm sharp. This training event will take place rain or shine, just like the real thing. Please bring your umbrellas (rain or shine), as well as extra U-locks, and drums or large buckets.
This workshop will build on the last one, starting with a brief recap of civil disobedience fundamentals (for those who couldn't make it last time). Then we will get into training and practice for a blockade of cattle trucks and for disrupting auctions, including more advanced tactics.
This workshop will be presented by Pam Cross, Matt Silburn, and Aric McBay.
The http://www.saveourprisonfarms.ca/ campaign continues to fight on - drawing strength from numerous community groups, including the National Farmers Union, Urban Agriculture Kingston, Sisters of Providence, Public Service Alliance of Canada, Kingston Unitarian Fellowship, Kingston's New Democrats.
