Dear neighbours,
It took a long time, but the police finally got back to me about a couple of prominent recent incidents that have taken place in the neighbourhood. Some of you had been asking me about these particular events.
The police are not willing to give me much information, so I am passing along pretty much all I know. For those of you who have been concerned, it might be somewhat reassuring.
There was a stabbing in Skeleton Park a few weeks ago. The officer handling that case told me that it was the result of a dispute that started elsewhere, that the people involved were on foot, and that it became violent at roughly the time that they reached the park. An arrest was made.
There was a very visible (and audible) arrest on Ordnance and Alma only a few days ago. According to the police, this incident, too, just happened to take place where it did, the incidents leading to the arrest taking place elsewhere.
