Local government can play a critical role in achieving a sustainable community.
City Council can provide leadership by raising awareness and influencing behavioural change as well as improving the quality of life through new green initiatives in Kingston.
Kingston Electors would like to showcase local community initiatives on sustainability. These initiatives could help to increase energy efficiency, reduce their carbon footprints or improve and support the social capital of our community. Sustainable social capital includes the social networks and interactions that that help to maintain and improve our community quality of life.
We are also interested in promoting any stories you may be able to share with us including:
new community building techniques
new renewable energy
sustainable construction or regeneration of Kingston buildings
energy efficient technology used in our community
green transportation initiatives
building and maintaining our social capital
