Dear MPNA Members,

Happy Earth Day! A few more events to keep in mind...

Wednesday, April 22nd, 7:30 pm

Save Our Downtown - Silent Vigil at S&R
Following the recent announcement of the closure of the S&R Department Store, a group of community members have come together to raise awareness of the hollowing out of the downtown core. In response they are organizing a silent vigil to commemorate the fifty-year-old department store located in the heart of downtown Kingston.

Saturday, April 25th, 2-4 pm
Kyra & Tully and friends at NEXT Church
An all-ages, family-friendly show will be held at NEXT Church (89 Colborne Street) from 2-4 pm on Saturday. The party will include performances by Me Man Jack (including members of the Gertrudes and Grimwits) and Lia Dawson, who appear on the record and will join Kyra & Tully on stage for some of the new tracks. Opening the show will be a screening of new works by Lenny Epstein and the Apple Crisp Music Club, including the premiere of the first video for Kyra and Tully 'Far Away'. Tickets at the door $5 for adults, kids (under 12?) free.

Sunday, April 26th, 10 am-noon
Spring Clean-Up in the Park
Bring your rakes and gloves and get dirty. And pack a picnic lunch for afterwards if you're in the mood. And another thing ... we're going to pass the hat for the Skeleton Park Music Festival, so please bring some cash if you want to help support this spectacular free event.

Saturday, May 2nd, 9 am-noon
Yard Sale at Central Public School
Are you looking for or do you want to sell children's items such as sports equipment, summer clothes, games, books, toys? Then join us Saturday, May 2nd from 9 am to noon at Central Public School (237 Sydenham Street). Indoor space will be provided in case of rain. If you plan to sell items, bring a blanket to put your items on. Sellers are responsible for their own sales. There is no participation fee for sellers, but donations to the school would be appreciated. Central will also be selling items to raise funds for the school. If you wish to donate items, please drop them off Saturday morning. For more info, call Frédérique at 613-548-7007.

Saturday, May 9th, 2 pm to last call
Homegrown Live Music Festival
Kingston's top music venues welcome over 60 bands volunteering their time and talent to support the Partners in Mission Foodbank and The M.I.L.L.
