Happy New Year to ALL!

Thank you Lydia for your kind introduction of our new Chairperson, I know that Shannon will do an excellent job. I look forward to working with the Community Association in the New Year to make our neighborhoods and part of the city all that they can be. All of your involvement is essential in that regard.

Just a couple notes on the accomplishments thus far of our infant community group. We helped implement due to citizen involvement at our association an anti graffiti program, I have represented your desire for lower property tax increases, traffic calming on some of the problem neighborhood streets where speed had become an issue is taking place. Infrastructure is beginning to go into areas that you have identified need for it. IE Traffic signal at Old Colony & Taylor Kidd that is now in the approvals stage.

We have had visitors from our Planning Staff to review the Official Plan well underway, we have together participated in helping clean up our neighborhood parks with “Pitch in Kingston”.

These are just a few of the things we have thus far done, and together we can and will do more for our community and City in the year and years ahead.

I look forward to seeing you at our next Community Association meeting indeed the 3rd Sunday of January and of months going forward until the Summer from 3-5 pm at Mino’s Village.
