Hello all,

• The MPNA's annual Halloween gathering in McBurney Park is set for this Friday. This year we will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the central planter (site of the the former rockpile). The costume parade, led by the usual gang of music-makers, will begin shortly afterwards. If you're so inclined, please bring musical instruments and noise-makers.

• I have received word from the City that the new playground equipment is scheduled to be installed sometime in late November or early December.

• The MPNA's annual general meeting is coming up soon, probably within in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

See you on Friday,

Alec

Maybe at the gathering - they could do the piped piper and walk those new Halogen "flood" lights out of the park!

The lights are so intense they light up ones living room all night!

What a waste of energy!

And where did the the stars in the sky go? - light pollution...

Is it not the MPNA responsibility to understand the alternatives or choices that "could affect" the entire neighbourhood? - not just the ones with the "passion" to create change.

i.e To be proactive is great but to be responsible for decisions for the entire community is wiser.
- to be another pawn in ones neighbourhood dream allows dumb things to happen.

e.g Alma Street, is now a parking lot for cars! With no posted parking signs.

Providence Manor staff park for free on it all day. Kids use the road to cross.

One person told me some park there cars for a week, and infront of there house. This is a safety hazard for the park & neighbourhood.

And the ones that drive this road, drive faster than ever, like its a race track!

Can we not - when we "change" things for the sake of change. (At least do their homework) or (at least) get City advice before anyone is convinced at MPNA (to leap) into saving the world, or neighbourhood -maybe we should consider change is not always for the good without due diligence!
