Sustainability and Development Strategy and Business Plan for POH
The City has hired consultants to produce a Sustainability and Development Strategy and Business Plan for the Kingston Marinas.
The Tourism Company, a Peterborough consulting firm, has held meetings with boaters from Confederation Basin and from Portsmouth Olympic Harbour to obtain input about the strengths and weaknesses of current marina operations and to provide users with an opportunity to suggest new directions and initiatives.
The terms of reference for the study recognize that in addition to being a marina, POH is also municipal parkland. On Wednesday August 13 between 7:00 and 9:00 PM in the Press Room at POH, Mr. D’Arcy McKittrick of the Tourism Company, will facilitate a meeting to provide the general public with an opportunity to offer their comments about the role of the POH site in the community.
Questions and comments made in these meetings will contribute to a report that the consultants will be making to the City in September. If you have views about POH as a community asset (marina and/or parkland), please attend the meeting on Wednesday evening.
If you are unable to be at the meeting, your comments can be sent via e-mail to darcy@tourismco.ca or by regular mail to Mr. D’Arcy McKittrick, Partner, The Tourism Company, 1958 Mapleridge Drive, Peterborough ON K9K 2E4
