The following motion will be considered by Kingston City Council at its meeting to be held on May 20, 2008.

On-Road Cycling Facilities Policy
THAT Council adopt a Cycling Facility Policy to encourage utilitarian and recreational cycling by providing cycling
facilities as follows:
a) provide wide curb lanes on newly constructed arterial and collector roads when possible;
b) dedicate the differences in cost between the wide curb lanes and on–road cycle lanes to:
i. increase driver/cyclist education
ii. road repair
iii. road maintenance
iv. off-road cycling routes;
c) provide paved shoulders on select rural roads where possible.
