Kingston City Council will consider the following motion at its meeting to be held on April 15, 2008.

Veterans’ Memorial Garden and Cenotaph Sub-Committee
WHEREAS the following resolution was approved at the Kingston City Council meeting held on March 4, 2008;
THAT a Sub-Committee of the Memorial Centre Revitalization Advisory Committee be created with the following composition to guide the design of the ‘Memorial Garden and Cenotaph’
i. Councillor Meers
ii. Councillor Garrison
iii. Base Commander, Canadian Forces Base Kingston
iv. Two to Three Veteran Representatives from the former Ad Hoc Committee to Recognize War
Veterans
v. Three Members of the Memorial Centre Revitalization Advisory Committee;
- and further -
THAT the Veterans’ Memorial Garden and Cenotaph Sub-Committee set the mandate and times lines for the
projected work plan for the Veterans’ Memorial Gardens and Cenotaph;
- and further -
THAT the sub-committee report back to the Memorial Centre Revitalization Advisory Committee in accordance with the process elements provided in Appendix ‘A’ (see Page No. 19);
- and further -
THAT the sub-committee take into account the community consultation process which occurred in the fall of 2006 as its findings contributed to the development of the Memorial Centre Concept Plan.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT General Donald Banks and Major W. McLeod be appointed to the Veterans’
Memorial Garden and Cenotaph Sub-Committee as the representatives of the former Ad-Hoc Committee to
Recognize War Veterans;
- and further -
THAT Mr. Richard Gold and Mr. Bert Diamond be appointed to the Veterans’ Memorial Garden and Cenotaph Sub-Committee as the representatives of the Memorial Centre Revitalization Advisory Committee.
