Kingston City Council will consider the following motion at its meeting to be held on April 15, 2008.

Market Square Fountain – Proposed Naming Opportunity

THAT Council acknowledge and accept the McNevin Family’s generous offer of $125,000 as a financial donation to the City of Kingston Market Square Revitalization Project, more particularly the fountain;

- and further -

THAT, to recognize and commemorate this donation, the City of Kingston officially name the fountain, which is located at the south-west corner of the square as “The Douglas A. McNevin Memorial Fountain”;

- and further -

THAT a bronze plaque denoting this, which is similar and consistent with the Donor Recognition Plaque located on
the Market Square Marker, be affixed to the fountain;

- and further -

THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to enter into a Naming Recognition Agreement with the McNevin family in a form satisfactory to the Commissioner of Corporate Services and Director of Legal Services.
