The following motion will be considered at the Kingston City Council meeting to be held on February 5, 2008:
Tree Canada – Green Streets Canada Community Partnership Grant Application
THAT City Council direct staff to submit an application, in partnership with Sydenham Ward Tenants’ and Ratepayers Association (SWTRA), the Portsmouth Villagers Association, McBurney Park Neighbourhood Association (MPNA), Queen’s AMS ‘Green Scheme’ and six schools within the Limestone District School Board, to Tree Canada Foundation’s Green Streets Canada 2008 urban forestry program to acquire funding for a combined Community Tree Planting Partnership along with a Public Education & Awareness initiative;
- and further -
THAT the City is committed to match the funds brought forward by the above noted organizations, which would result in a combined commitment of 50% of the cost of the overall project.
