Hello all,
The McBurney Park Neighborhood Association's annual Winter Solstice gathering takes place on Friday December 21, 2007 in McBurney Park. The festivities start at 4:30 p.m. Please bring a lantern with a candle or an (empty!) tin can that you can fill with snow and insert a candle into. Sharon Brackenbury will have tea lights and wire available; we will also have 3 or 4 hammers for punching holes in the tin cans. We invite you to bring any solstice-friendly songs to share during the lantern-making.
This year, to keep things simple, there will not be cider or craft- making.
After the lanterns are finished, we will take a short walk in the park while singing This Little Light of Mine (lyrics below).
That's it.
Have a great holiday, and we'll see you in 2008!
Cheers,
Alec
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Down in my heartI’m gonna let it shine
Oh, down in my heartI’m gonna let it shine
Down in my heartI’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Ev'ry where I go
I'm going to let it shine
Oh, ev'ry where I go
I'm going to let it shine
Ev'ry where I go
I'm going to let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
All in my house
I'm going to let it shine
Oh, all in my house
I'm going to let it shine
All in my house
I'm going to let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
I'm not going to make it shine
I'm just going to let it shine
I'm not going to make it shine
I'm just going to let it shine
I'm not going to make it shine
I'm just going to let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Out in the dark
I'm going to let it shine
Oh, out in the dark
I'm going to let it shine
Out in the dark
I'm going to let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Shine all over Kingston
I'm gonna let it shine
Oh, Shine all over Kingston
I'm gonna let it shine
Shine all over Kingston,
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
