The following items from the Arts, Recreation and Community Policies Committee of City Council will be considered by Council at its meeting on July 24, 2007:
1. Memorial Centre Use by Queen’s University
THAT staff be directed that any deal reached with Queen's University regarding the use of the Memorial Centre by Queen's should respect the current community uses of the Memorial Centre and the revitalization plans of the Memorial Centre site as outlined and recommended by the Memorial Centre Revitalization Committee.
2. Construction of a New School at the Memorial Centre Site
THAT Council adopt the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Kingston City Council wishes to advise the Chair and Trustees of the Limestone District School Board that the Memorial Centre site is not available for the construction of a new school by the Limestone District School Board as was recently recommended for consideration by the CN Watson report to the Trustees of the Limestone District School Board at the June 19, 2007 meeting of the Board of Trustees.
