It is my firm belief that a fully-licensed driver should not be required to memorize the exact whereabouts of potholes in the city to avoid car damage. However, I have found through trial and error that this is the only way to go about driving in this city without having to have your tires rotated on a weekly basis.

I'll start with downtown Princess Street. It should be taken out and shot. Specifically the potholes by Mac's as you turn onto University Ave., and the one further west by the Tim Horton's that most people attempt to swerve around.

Considering certain streets keep getting torn apart and re-made for no apparent reason, methinks that million-dollar truck they bought to figure out the pothole situation has not been doing its job...... I honestly wish they had just asked the citizens for suggestions!

Please list the potholes that make the biggest 'dent' in your heart (or wallet) here, and hopefully SOMEone will take notice!

Rideau Street seems to have its share of potholes. If we get enough pothole photos we could probably have a competition!

That's a great idea! I've heard Ottawa (?) or some big city actually did have a competition for the worst street, and whichever one won would be re-paved. I personally think that's a great way of involving the community and letting them feel like they have a part in what goes on around the city. At least a very small part...... haha.......

What roads get paved goes beyond which one has the most potholes. The infrastructure underneath must also be considered and the timetables to replace them.

waiting for pictures and perhaps Needs Fixing is as well. Or has he/she made a comment I have not read?

I understand that too, but it seems to me they're repaving roads that cause no immediate danger, whereas some roads in this city may have actually caused accidents. I know, in my experience, I've almost had a couple due to potholes and people swerving to avoid them -- and I'm a safe driver. I'd be interested to hear of accidents caused by the roads of Kingston.

http://kingstonelectors.ca/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif To all those folks interested in our potholes!

Lots of general comments, and I am sure that most of us have our favourites (potholes, that is). What would be useful for this site are some really good photos of some really big potholes that seem to have been ignored by public works, along with their locations identified. That would give us something useful to take to city hall, for their response.

So get 'clickin'!
