Here is an interesting "Dart" in the mind of the Toronto Star (December 31, 2005):
Doug Holyday: For backing commer******m over tradition; the Toronto councillor proposed selling naming rights to Nathan Phillips Square to fund repairs.

Very interesting!
Heck he must have learned about how our council did things and decided to be OPEN AND ABOVE BOARD FOR GETTING PEOPLE AWARE THAT THIS IS POSSIBLE.
He made the announcement and now anyone can have a chance at doing just that.
I wonder whether people would be as upset had the announcment came before the deal was sealed on the Market Square????

The idea was squashed shortly after the idea was floated in the paper.
While Toronto councillors and the public may have criticized Mr. Holyday for his suggestion, at least he was brave enough to muse aloud of his idea.
